Background:
Alpha Fetoprotein (AFP) is normally synthesized
in  the  liver,  intestinal  tract  and  yolk  sac  of  the
fetus.  Antibody  to  AFP  has  been  shown  to  be
useful  in  detecting  hepatocellular  carcinomas
(HCC) and germ cell neoplasms, especially yolk
sac tumors.
 
Species Reactivity:
Human, pig and sheep. Does not react with dog.
Other species not tested.

Format:
1  mL  of  immunoglobulin  fraction  from  rabbit

Positive Control:
HEP-G-2  cells,  fetal  liver  or  hepatocellular
carcinoma.
Applications and Suggested Dilutions:

  Western blotting: Use at a 1:100 dilution  for
2 hours at room temperature.

  Immunohistochemistry:  (formalin/paraffin)
Use at a 1:100-1:200 dilution for 30 minutes
at room temperature. 
No  special  treatment  is  required  for  the
immunohistochemistry  staining  of
formalin/paraffin tissues.
The  optimal  dilution  for  a  specific  application
should be determined by the researcher.
